Current Builders awards scholarship to Plantation High School Senior

Each year since 2008-2009 school year, the ACE Mentor Program of South Florida hosts a year end "Presentation and Scholarship Awards Night" to conclude the ACE mentor program for the school year. Students from Miami Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin County schools come together to present the project they have worked on during the school year. Industry professionals and organizations as well as teachers and parents come out to support the students. The event concludes with the scholarship awards presentation.

This year, Current Builders awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Candice Kaler, a graduating senior at Plantation High School who has participated in the ACE Mentor Program since 2008. Staci Thirlwell, Assistant Project Manager for Current Builders has been the ACE Team Leader at Plantation High School. "I am so happy to give Candice this scholarship. She has grown so much since I first met her in 2008 and it has been an honor to be part of such an amazing program, one that truly impacts students and the mentors." Candice plans to pursue a degree in Construction Project Management because of Staci's influence through the program. "I like what you do, I think it would be a lot of fun and is more like me," Candice told Staci after being awarded the scholarship.

Current Builders CEO Charles Reid is the founding President of the ACE Mentor Program and has been essential to the program's success. His sponsorship of this scholarship is sure to impact Candice as she continues her education.
