What started as a 100 bike drive turned into over two hundred bikes, $3,000 in gifts and another $3,000.00 left over that Current Builders will use to support the troops overseas through an adopt a soldier plan. Many of the Marines that were part of the drive will be doing another tour in Afghanistan starting June 2009, so CB will likely include them in the program.

Company to Raise Funds to Donate 100 Bikes to Local Children in Need

Pompano, FL - November 25, 2008 — Current Builders, a premier building construction company in South Florida, is proud to be sponsoring a Marine Corp Toys for Tots Bike Drive this Christmas, with a goal of raising enough money to purchase a minimum of 100 bikes to be donated to local children in need. This drive carries on a Current Builders' season tradition of donating toys for needy children during the holiday season to Toys for Tots.

Three years ago, Current Builder's CEO, Chip Reid, started the Current Builders tradition of partnering with the Toys for Tots program and the donations by employees for this worthy cause have grown with each passing year. Chip's father served in the US Marine Corp during WWII and Korea, was highly decorated, and retired a full Colonel, making the program a special cause for Chip.

"This organization is one that is close to my heart, but also one that has a reputation of helping thousands of children by sending a message of hope to needy children. Our goal is to be able to purchase 100 bikes and we are hoping that everyone gets involved to make this Christmas an unforgettable one," stated Chip Reid, CEO of Current Builders.

All Current Builders' employees and subcontractors will be encouraged to donate to the Bike Drive. In the front lobby of Current Builders' main office in Pompano, those wishing to participate will be able to select a donation amount and fill out their information on an ornament, which will be displayed in the lobby.

Additional donations from the community are welcome, as Current Builders is a drop off location for the entire Pompano Beach area. Toys for Tots will pick up all donations on December 20, 2008 at 12:00 pm at the Current Builders Pompano office, located at: 2251 Blount Rd. Pompano Beach, FL 33069. Press is welcome to attend.
